How long have you been taking photos?
I got my first DSLR in 2016 when I was a senior in high school. At first I really wasn't taking photography seriously at all and I wasn't consistently shooting, however it was a little hobby I did on the side. The last few of years I have been diving in to learn how to better my images whether that be when I am taking the photo, the editing process, or both.
What do you shoot with?
I shoot with a Canon EOS 6D Mark II and I have two lenses that I use: the 50mm f/1.4 for all things standard and a 17-40mm f/4 for when I want to switch it up!
What is my session fee going towards?
You aren't just paying me, it also goes towards things like SD cards, subscriptions, editing time, and upgrading gear overtime. When you pay a session fee, think of it like an investment not only for yourself, but towards me as well.
Can I extend the session on the day of?
Of course, if I don't have anything right before or right after the session, we can definitely go overtime. My sessions are kind of like a fun date, if we really vibe in the session, whats better than spending a little while longer with you?
Do I have to order prints through you?
Absolutely not! If you ask for a print release I will be glad to give it to you. However, purchasing from me also helps me buy more gear.
Do you send RAW (unedited) photos?
I unfortunately do not offer my RAW files. I do however, promise that I will care for your gallery and it will be awesome!
How many photos do I get?
This is solely dependent on the type of session and tier. You can see more info on my services page.
How do we get our photos?
You will receive a link to an online gallery where you can download digital images. With this link there will be web safe files that you can use to post on social media and full resolution images for printing. This gallery will only be available for up to a year and all images must be downloaded before then. Since most of my communication is through email, I ask for you to check your email regularly after a session.
What is your turnaround rate?
If you visited my about page, you already know I work a full time job. With that it varies of when you will get your images depending on how many other galleries or how many photos I have to edit from your session. I usually try my best to send galleries within 1-2 weeks but as we all know, life happens. I do try my best to be as communicative as possible when that turnaround is delayed. Don't worry though, I'll make sure to send you some teasers!
Do you travel?
Yes! If it is somewhere where I need to fly out, I will charge you for the flight and costs of traveling to the location after I get off the flight. As for sessions where driving is a more suitable option, I charge 50 cents a mile if you are over 20 miles away from me, if you live a hundred miles from me then your mileage would be $100 in addition to the session fee.
How extensive is your editing?
With my portraits, I will do basic skin retouching (acne, bruises, evening out the skin tone, and subtle teeth whitening). I have taken a personal oath to go against going beyond those measures due to my desire to keep you looking as authentic as possible. If you start to not look like yourself, then I know I need to take a few steps back.
Do you do anything besides portraits?
Absolutely. I have a print shop of all the work I do outside of my portrait work. I also dabble in things such as automotive and product photography. I always look for ways to challenge myself beyond portraits! Growth is everything for me.
